Location and Date

The International Conference "Advanced Optical Materials and Devices" (AOMD-5) will be held in Vilnius from 27 to 30 August, 2006. Vilnius is the historical capital of Lithuania, founded in 1323. The city makes boast of the Old Town which is an urban district of tremendous cultural and historic value from an national as well as a international point of view. The Old Town was inscribed by UNESCO in the World Heritage list in 1994 (www.vilnius.lt).

Scope

Continuing the series of forum held in Riga (1996), Vilnius (2000), Riga (2002), and Tartu (2004), the Conference intends to pursue the tradition of exchange of ideas and encourage co-operation between East and West in the field of optics-related advanced materials and devices.

Selections of Papers

Contributed papers will be selected on the a basis of abstracts. The technical AOMD-5 program includes invited oral presentations (25 min + 5 min for discussion), selected contributed oral presentations (15 min + 5 min for discussion) and poster presentations (poster size 1x1m2)

Publications

Abstracts not exceed one single sided A4 page. Start with the title in CAPITAL LETTERS, leave two line spaces and write authors names, their affiliation (please, give full addresses including telephone, fax number and e-mail addresses). Leave further two line spaces and type the text (12 pt). Abstracts should be mailed (spiadm@pfi.lt) to the Secretariat of the AOMD-5. In a covering letter the authors should identify a contact author and indicate in which of the Conference main topics their abstract should be considered.

Manuscripts of the papers can not exceed 10 pages for invited talk, 6 pages for oral and poster presentations. The papers will be reviewed and, if accepted, published in journal Proceedings of SPIE. A guide authors of papers can be found in http://www.pfi.lt/conf/aomd5/guide. During registration the authors will be asked to submit two printed copies of the manuscript with the figures.

Registration Fee

For regular participant 200 Euro.
For students 60 Euro.
The fee includes:
- the book of abstracts,
- the Proceedings of the Conference,
- refreshments and lunches,
- offical dinner and reception, excursions.

Accommodation

A sufficient number of hotel-rooms will be reserved, most of which are located within walking distance from the Conference centre. The price range from 60 to 140 Euro per night. Student accommodation is about 35 Euro per night. Hotel reservation up to August 10.
